The 18th International Passive House Conference was recently held in Germany, at which China's upcoming construction of the world's largest passive house factory attracted great attention. Passive houses do not require active energy such as heating and cooling. Building energy saving is realized through the design of space form, envelope structure, building materials and structure of the building itself. China ranks first in the world in the amount of new buildings every year and is a big country in building energy consumption. However, the development of passive buildings in China is difficult. There are two main obstacles: first, the public's awareness of passive buildings is not enough, and the second is the lack of raw materials supporting passive buildings.

It is understood that the world's largest passive factory to be built, covering an area of 40,000 square meters, an investment budget of 250 million yuan, designed by the CEO of the German Passive House Federation, is built in full accordance with "German standards". The plant is equipped with photovoltaic power generation, ground source heat pump, rainwater collection, water treatment, waste biochemistry, waste heat exchange, sunlight utilization and other functions. According to the preliminary calculation, after the passive factory is completed, the total annual saving of heating and cooling costs will be 1.8 million yuan, the total annual revenue of photovoltaic power generation will be 3.408 million yuan, and the total annual CO2 emission reduction will be 424,542.21 kg. At present, the plant has completed the design and is in the process of PHI design certification.

As the need for building energy conservation becomes more and more urgent, passive houses, which are at the forefront of energy-saving buildings in the world, are also getting more and more attention. From 2020, only passive houses will be allowed to be built in the EU. The world's largest passive factory has laid a solid foundation for the development of energy-efficient buildings in China.
